There have been several home improvement projects going on around our house lately. Justin and my grandpa (a very good teacher and probably the handiest man alive) have been hard at work replacing our kitchen sink, installing a wall sconce, and laying tile by out back door. It is all turing out wonderfully!!

The Kitchen Sink- Recently our disposal died and we needed to replace it. While we were at it, we replaced our sink as well. The original sink we had wasn't very deep, so we updated it to a new one that you can actually fill with water to wash dishes in.

The Wall Sconce- I was gone while they worked on this, so I only have a before and after picture. There was a switch in the mini hallway by our coat closet when we moved into our house, but it didn't turn anything off or on. Pa looked at it and discovered that they had wired it for a light but never installed one. A few wires and a hole in the wall later we had light!




Tile- Our backdoor opens up right into our living room, which means that everything Reese brings in on his paws goes straight on our carpet. So while out backyard is currently "closed" (due to growing grass), Justin and Pa laid tile. It looks like it has been there the whole time!

The backyard- Justin and his dad worked on this together. The original plan was to a lay down sod on the few places where Reese had pottied and killed the grass. After some research and a trip to the local nursery, the discovered that we actually didn't have grass growing in our back yard, it was all weeds! So Justin decided to start all over...










This is what is currently looks like. There are some tiny green strands starting to pop out, so hopefully we will have some grass coming in soon!!


Justin is getting quite handy these days! I wonder what other house hold projects I can think of for him to do next ;)
